Great Joy

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Faith or theory

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
(Hebrews 11:1-3)

Is it really that simple to explain?…
I could be OK with the “Big Bang”, if someone can explain… the before in a clear way.

Big Bang.
A cosmological theory holding that the universe originated approximately 20 billion years ago from the violent explosion of a very small agglomeration of matter of extremely high density and temperature. (

Is it Faith to believe theory?….

With God we believe that someone beyond our capability to understand how powerful He really is, was able to create matter from nothing and set it into motion for a purpose.

Or, we believe that everything created itself from nothing in a random explosion and set everything in motion for no particular reason.

Who knows, maybe God created the Big Bang…

The Grace of God.

This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the Lord.
( Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV)

Is it just me, or is there lots of boasting going on in the world today?  I think back over the times that I boasted of things I thought were important, but they seem silly now.

Really… what does it matter how smart someone is?  Or, how strong they are?  They still can’t know everything or pick up a mountain.

Well… I can’t yet boast that I have the understanding to know the Lord, but I’m working on it…  How about you?

He did exist before mankind.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
(Jeremiah 1:5 NIV)

Yes, Its just a few words on a page, but do you ever wonder how you began?  Where your life came from?

Does it bring you any comfort to know that God is outside of our pitiful intellect, and resides in the before and after with equal clarity?

Face it… You and I are limited, and can only give a best guess when it comes to the vanishing point of our minds.

He had you in mind before you were ever created…. You have a purpose and He has a plan.  Ask and you shall receive.

A blind man sees.

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory to God, ” they said. “We know this man is a sinner.”
He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
(John 9:24,25 NIV)

Jesus just can’t help himself when it comes to touching the less fortunate.  Even though it would eventually cost Him His life, He continued to heal, deliver and bless those who came to Him.

He can and will do the same for you….  Bring Him your blindness and see.

Jesus feeds the five thousand.

When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip,  “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”  He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
(John 6:5, 6 NIV)

Interesting that He already had in mind what He was going to do, but wanted to test Philip. What was Jesus looking for in Philip?  Has He ever tested you, and then did a miracle in your life?

It seems as though He knew it would take great faith for His disciples to believe that He was eventually going to rise from the dead.  So, maybe He needed to start expanding their minds… Actually it couldn’t have been their minds because nothing about it made sense.  It had to have been their hearts.

When we think with our mind, it sometimes becomes our enemy.  But when we believe with our heart, even impossible things can happen.

What is impossible in your life today?

If He can feed 5,000 people on a few loaves of bread, He can certainly move mountains for you….  All you have to do is believe with Him, so He can take the smallest grain of faith and make a miracle from it.

Trust him… Unlike many people in this world…. He is worthy and reliable.

Please share your stories of faith with us.

I see dead people.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

(John 5:24, 25 NIV)

Are you dead?  I once was, but now I live.

Do you find it strange that words can bring arguments or peace, depending on your point of view?

Jesus came with words of life and they killed Him for it.  Did he actually die over some words, so you may live?  It depends on how you look at it, or better yet, where you are in life.

If you happen to be healthy, happy and financially fit, then the prospect of death may not seem so real.  What if for example, you just heard similar words (from your Doctor), that were spoken to me (by mine).  “I’m very sorry, I don’t have good news for you, your biopsy confirms you have cancer.”

Nothing like a few words from someones mouth to get your attention about your future.  “There is so much to do and see,  how much time do I have left?”  All of a sudden a clock has profound meaning and the realization that you have absolutely no say or control on how much time you have been given, hits home….

I can tell you one thing… After going though that, no matter how long I have, I will live each day without regret or remorse.  Because as the scripture says,  “I have crossed over from death to life”

It took cancer to wake me up.  What will it take to get your attention?

Can we know Him?

Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
But he said to them,  “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’?
I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

 (John 4:31-35 NIV)

There are aspects about Jesus even his closest disciples did not understand.
He is gracious, patient, gentle and clear in revealing what he wanted them to know.

They walked and lived with him every day….. How much less do we understand Him?  He will (and does) show us what he wants us to know as well….. just ask Him and see.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

(James 1:5-7 NIV)

Are there things in your life that hold you back from living totally free?  If so, it does not have to be that way…  Believe me I know.

You are more than Animated Mud….. You have a purpose…. Discover your life and be amazed at what living is all about.  He (Jesus) knocks, but you have to let Him in.

In the beginning.

Did you know that the bible can pretty much be summed up in the first 5 words of Genesis 1:1? “In the beginning God created.”

Pause for just a moment and think of what that implies…  If God does exist and rules over all creation, He could be as simple or complex as He chooses to be in revealing Himself.

It seems ironic that God would use the first five words of the most widely read book (of all time), to simply say, who He is and what He did… no convoluted formulas and lengthy explanations.  no excuses for not being smart enough to know…  Anyway, If He were to show us how He created (matter) from nothing, would anyone really understand?

The smartest minds on this planet can’t even explain how something spontaneously (without a creator) appeared from nothing, and evolved into what we have today.  Sure, we can account for and examine stuff that we see, but what about before?

It may be possible that you have asked questions at some point in your life, regarding your own existence of, where did I come from and/or what existed before all that we know?

It’s perfectly natural to ask… and the answers are out there….You just have to decide what and why you believe what you find.

Regardless of your conclusion, it takes great faith to believe whatever is revealed.  Nothing can be proven, unless you believe the evidence of the presenter…

The only one who can transcend our limitations of reason, logic and intelligence is someone not bound (or limited) by what we understand to be true. That happens to be God, and He will need to reveal Himself to us….  We can’t force His appearance, anymore than we can make a puppet walk without its strings.

If you are interested in finding Him, here is a scripture from the bible that explains simply how He can be found.

(Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV)

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Now, lets just take it at face value and ask… If this passage is true, and He is not found (or revealed)… is it His fault?  Or is it just easier to say He does not exist?

He does exist and would be well worth your time to see…. Sure, it may still be faith, but all matters have to be settled with some level of assurance.

What is the foundation of your belief,  and does it bring you peace of mind?

There is so much more to the story, but the first 5 words sets the tone… don’t you think?

You make me so mad!

Really, I make you mad???

mad scientist drawn by User:J.J

It’s a simple and very common phrase, but holds profound implications for our future peace of mind.

Is it possible for one person to force another person to feel a certain way without an express or implied approval… on your part?

How often have you heard (or said), “you make me so mad!“?
If we really have that kind of power over each other, then I want to run a simple test….

Everyone reading this, send me $100.00 right now… Go ahead and write the check and mail it…. Hmmm, seems I can’t force you to send me your hard earned money, how could I make you to change your hard earned thoughts?

It may be that, some people ignore their responsibilities (to be accountable) for their own thoughts, feelings and actions… only to put them on other people by saying “you make me…”  Honestly, do you really believe other people can MAKE you mad?

Sure, sometimes people can do some really stupid stuff, but its not yours to deal with… unless you choose it to be…. then yes, other people can make you mad.

The downfall is, you have now given them power over you.  Unless they show up with a picture ID proving they are God… You should not be giving any power (to anyone) over yourself.

It’s just a matter of only letting quality product (information) into your soul.  When I eat good food, I feel better.  When I think good thoughts, the same thing happens.

Proverbs 23:7 (says in part) “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.”

We have the option to choose what we let in…. just make sure it’s good stuff.

So, the next time you feel compelled to say “You make me so mad!”, take a deep breath, relax and think…. what are you allowing into your life to change your thoughts or feelings.

Mmm yeah, Its hard work, but worth it.
